As every so often in life: The story begins with a simple problem:
If one takes out a folder from the shelve, the closed front of the “spine-to-spine” folders next to each other makes
it often hard to get them out.
The metal grip hole in the spine of the folder makes it easier to take it off the shelve. If such a grip hole is inserted
into the spine of a presentation folder, the possibilities of an optimum design of this central promotionally effective area are
reduced though.
The Rado-slit ensures the good stability of the classic lever-operated folder. Whether this practicality always fits the
aesthetic requirements, might be disputed. Without a doubt this (very technical) solution reduces the graphical design possibilities
of the title too.
The clicking into place of the Rado-slits and the thus caused noise is often annoying during the daily handling of the folder.
How can IBA be an improvement? The answer is the
1. The curved waist of the
maintains a distance to the two neighbours on the shelve, its bi-concave spine bends towards the reaching hand, making it simple to take it off the shelve.
The necessity of a grip hole is replaced by the shape. The spine makes a conspicuous eye-catcher and offers
countless possibilities for new design ideas.
The IBA counter mechanism ensures the stability of the design folder. No Rado-slits disrupt the graphical design of
the title, the often insufficient anchoring of the lever mechanism in the Rado-slit is replaced by a simple and safe clip system.
Acoustically a characteristic, sound "click" accompanies the use of the ;
this sound signals stability and quality.
